Sidney Juhan “Smiley” Anchors passed away on January 9, 2018. He was born in Moultrie, Georgia on September 14, 1928.Upon moving to Port St. Joe, he worked at the St. Joe Paper Mill. It was there that he was given his fitting nickname of “Smiley.” It was while he was employed at the mill that he met and fell in love with a young teacher, Betty Sue Smith.
